What's  New Foil Resistors Are Qualified To MIL-PRF-55182/RNC90Z Standard Wilbrecht Model WZ resistors are now QPL qualified to the MIL-PRF-55182/RNC90Z standard. Available in resistance ranges of 30.1 ohms through 121K ohms with resistance ranges of +/- 1.0% down to +/- 0.005%, the resistors are suitable for military and aerospace applications where very low and stable TCR is required. New, RoHS Compliant and Lead-Free Panel Mount LEDs With the July 2006 RoHS compliance dateline rapidly approaching, Wilbrecht Electronics is introducing a series of new Panel Mount LEDs which meet RoHS and lead-free certification standards. The RoHS compliant LEDs are recommended for new designs and RoHS conversion of existing products. Suitable for front and rear mounting, the 3mm and 5mm LEDs allow easy installation for hole sizes ranging from 0.156” to 0.312”. To help applications meet the RoHS deadline, prototypes are available within one week of request and production units within four weeks of requisition. With the custom options available from Wilbrecht, the RoHS compliant and lead-free LEDs can offer a cost effective solution for designers. The new LEDs are available with a variety of options including custom lead lengths, high temperature insulation, internal resistors, and connector terminations. They afford further labor savings with fast, easy mounting utilizing simple friction fit design . Sealed against water and dust, the LEDs are ideal for demanding outdoor applications. An optional O-ring is available for an extra water resistant seal. The LED housings are available in 6 colors: blue, green, red, yellow, white, and clear for use with single color, bicolor and tricolor LEDs. Users can select from several popular lens styles including cartridge, fresnel lens, flush mount and domed styles. The 120 VAC LEDs allow an easy upgrade for panel indicators where longer life is desirable. The new LEDs are especially cost effective in control panels, instrumentation and front panel fault indicators that are exposed to vibration and harsh environmental conditions. The state of the art 120 VAC LEDs meet requirements for IP67 and are sealed against moisture and dust. An optional O-ring is available for an extra water resistant seal. The LEDs come in 4colors: blue, green, red and yellow offering brightness levels which are daylight readable. New Engineer’s Design Kit With Latest Panel Mount LEDs Wilbrecht Electronics has assembled more than 50 of the most popular and latest Panel Mount LEDs into a single Design Kit exclusively for engineers. The 3mm to 5mm LED models are all fully assembled indictors ranging in hole sizes from 0.187” to 0.312”. Ready for a drop-in fit, the LEDs come with mounting hardware, insulated leads for circuitry layouts and are ready for operation in a range of 2V to 28V. With simple plug and play, an engineer can test a variety of LEDs in their prototype or pre-production unit. They can quickly determine how a particular LED type will function reducing guess-work and saving considerable time and expense. The LEDs come in both front and rear mount styles with popular colors such as red, green and yellow. The new design kit includes the latest colors such as blue, tricolor and daylight visible LEDs. In addition to providing color, intensity, and voltage options, LEDs are sealed against moisture and dust with the option of special o-ring seals for water tightness. Potentiometer/Switch Withstands Tough Applications A precision potentiometer/switch from Wilbrecht Electronics has been specially designed for high quality performance in adverse conditions. Environmentally sealed with transfer-molded epoxy resin and "O" ring shaft seal, the PA 400 potentiometer switch is resistant to elevated temperatures, corrosion, moisture, water, and bodily fluids. Its offers an extremely long rotation life of 25,000 cycles in tough environments in medical, food processing, automotive, construction, and marine applications. The Wilbrecht Electronics PA 400 Potentiometer/Switch can be utilized in new instrumentation or easily retrofit into existing equipment that is being operated in more demanding environments. From a basic configuration of a 0.394" (10.01mm) cube with gold contacts, the unit is available with a wide variety of bushings, cases, and flat or rounded shafts in varying lengths. Designed with a choice of 8 standard electrical tapers, the switch can be placed at either the clockwise or counterclockwise end of the rotation regardless of the direction of the taper curve. Constructed of non-magnetic materials, the potentiometer/switch is wave solderable and available in English and Metric versions. Ultra Precision Resistor For Military Jet Fighter Performance With a unique two-wire lead design, Wilbrecht Electronics' Ultra Precision Resistor provides an extra buffer during external mechanical stresses for military jets. The construction of the Wilbrecht Metal Foil, Type MAQ Resistor increases stability against vibration and shock from external forces and pulsation during take-off, landing, and in-flight maneuvers. Made with a special transfer-molded epoxy resin process, the resistor is strongly resistant to temperature variation. It withstands extreme temperature fluctuation from -55oC to + 125oC. This capability allows the resistor to perform reliably during start-up in sweltering desert temperatures and then climb quickly to the frigid cold of high altitude flight. As an Ultra Precision Resistor, it provides a resistance range of 100W to 121k with an accuracy within ± 50ppm of the desired value. The Type MAQ Resistor is approved for MIL-PRF-55182/RNC90Y (R Level).
